CaHPSA at Touro University, California
Founded in Fall 2015 by students who refused to be stumped by lack of an on-campus organization dedicated to educating about health care systems and advocating for health equity & increased access to healthcare, CaHPSA at TU is an alliance of passionate health professional students who advocate for a universal, comprehensive, guaranteed and affordable health care system.
Who can join? CaHPSA at TU is open to all students on campus in any program including those enrolled in the College of Education and Health Sciences, the College of Pharmacy, and the College of Osteopathic Medicine.
A past event highlight: Legislative Visit for AB 72
On August 16, we joined members of Health Access California, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and the American Cancer Society to meet with the field representative for State Senator Lois Wolk in support of Assembly Bill 72. AB 72 is a bill on the floor of the state senate that would bring financial relief to patients experiencing surprise medical bills after visiting their in-network facilities.
