Email: [email protected]

Anali was born and raised in Mexico, migrating to the United States at the age of 12. She is an alumna of Cal State University, Northridge where she earned a Bachelors degree in Liberal Arts as well as a Masters degree in Public Health in Health Education (MPH).

Anali became interested in public health when her grandfather passed away from Alzheimer’s and her family was not educated on the disease. Prior to that, she conducted research concerning Pneumococcal Disease in children for the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.

CaHPSA Advisor – Firooz Kabir, BS/Pre-Med

Firooz’s interest in the health care system was sparked at an early age, when her family’s experiences with the system left her wondering why quality care wasn’t always readily available.

Since then, she has sought out opportunities to learn more about health care and get involved in organizations and community projects geared toward health, education, and justice. She earned her B.S. in General Biology with minors in Human Development and Law & Society from UC San Diego (c/o 2015). Firooz served CaHPSA at UCSD as president from 2013-15 and was the Southern California CaHPSA representative on the California Physicians Alliance (CaPA) Board of Directors (2015-16). Firooz plans to attend medical school to earn an MD/MPH while staying active in efforts to improve the quality of and access to health care.

Her work has allowed her to develop extensive experience in community power building, legislative advocacy, and leadership development. She is a native of San Jose, CA and is a proud graduate of the University of California Berkeley where she received a B.A. in Molecular Cell Biology and minor in Ethnic Studies. Her previous leadership positions in CaHPSA include Northern California President, Legislative and Media Coordinator, and Education Coordinator.
