“It is a huge honor and privilege to be here at UC Riverside School of Medicine- to follow my dreams, and learn to heal both people who are hurting and the systems that contribute to that harm. They say it takes a village, and I’m grateful for my village, which includes my mentors at home in the Central Valley, the Bay Area, and especially in CaPA and CaHPSA. The far-reaching consequences of poor health access and inequity are very evident in my day-to-day life here, both in our student-run clinics and in the Inland Empire community at large. But, I’ve learned through CaPA and CaHPSA that I can and will uphold my values by continuing to advocate, learn, and fight to make the changes we want to see and improve health outcomes for EVERYONE. I’m up for the challenge and excited to be surrounded by peers, classmates, advocates, and educators with the same values and mission!”
